What to know by country

GermanyMost public universities charge no tuition. Baden-Württemberg and TUM charge non-EU students, and you pay a semester contribution everywhere.

NetherlandsNon-EU students pay a much higher institutional fee.

FranceUniversities may exempt some non-EU students from the higher rate, within a national cap.

AustriaNon-EU fees are low at public universities, but some courses cost more.

NorwayNon-EU/EEA students have paid tuition since 2023.

FinlandNon-EU/EEA students pay for English-taught degrees. Universities run scholarship schemes.

Czech RepublicFree only for programs taught in Czech, so you need to study in Czech first.
